My career began after graduating form Kings College London in 2003 with a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics. Since this time I have be honoured to have covered many different medical specialties for different disease states and continue to practice as a clinical registered dietitian. My particular interest lies in the digestive tract; how nutrition can influence health and help symptom management in disease. I have gathered a wealth of experience from industry, providing evidence-based support to launch of new nutritional products and have experience teaching and presenting to healthcare professionals, elite and age group athletes, medical specialties including diabetes, weight management, IBS (including GI distress and FODMAPs)diabetes and GP commissioning. I have experience working with athletes within a sport medicine team, young national level athletes , age group and elite athletes. This has included working with dancers, triathletes, endurance triathletes, ultra-runners, cyclists, weight related sports and athletes with eating disorders and REDs. I followed my personal interest in sport with an advanced diploma in personal training , exercise to music instructor and a post graduate certificate in sports and exercise nutrition in 2010. Helping clients to optimise nutrition for health and symptom management is embedded in my day to day practice with clients. The ethos behind my work is equipping athletes with the skills and knowledge to confidently be able implement the micro day to day changes to their nutrition around their changing training needs. The importance of working as part of a wider multidisciplinary team is paramount to the success and health of athlete. I work closely with Sports Medicine Teams, Coaches including Strength and Conditioning Coaches, an Endocrinologist specialising in sports, a Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Specialist Dietitian in Diabetes and sports nutrition.
As a competitive endurance triathlete and am passionate about how food and nutrition affects performance, metabolism, and body composition.
